Cada año que que pasa,adquieren mayor importancia los CFDA awards que son los premios a la moda americana otorgado por el consejo de diseñadores de moda de America. En esta oportunidad,la ceremonia fue en el Lincoln Center y reunió a lo mejor del diseño americano. Uno de los puntos mas resaltantes de la noche fue el premio tributo que fue otorgado a Alexander McQueen por su aporte a la moda, este premio fue presentado por Sarah Jessica Parker y recibido por Sarah Burton, la nueva directora creativa de la casa.Para acompañar este premio se hizo una presentación de la colección póstuma otoño-invierno 2010 de McQueen. El premio al reconocimiento de una carrera fue otorgado a Michael Kors, y el de Icono de la moda, fue dado a Iman.
